KERRVILLE, Texas (HCBN)- A vehicle versus pedestrian hit-and-run, involving a female victim and 50-year-old Jeffery Dean Colley, is currently being investigated by the Kerrville Police Department. KPD officers, as well as the Kerrville Fire Department/Emergency Medical Services, responded to the scene in the 2400 block of Junction Highway on December 15 around 2:45 AM.
The victim was said to have suffered serious bodily injuries due to the accident and was transferred to University Hospital in San Antonio.
After an initial investigation, KPD reported that Colley was arrested on December 18 and was charged with Accident Involving Serious Bodily Injury, a Third Degree Felony, said the Kerrville Police Department.
“In Texas, a Third Degree Felony is punishable by imprisonment for a term of not more than 10 years or less than 2 years. In addition to imprisonment, an individual adjudged guilty of a Third Degree Felony may be punished by a fine not to exceed $10,000,” the Kerrville Police Department added in a media release.
The incident is still under investigation and KPD is asking the community to contact the Kerrville Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 830-257-8181 with any relevant information regarding this accident.
According to Kerr County public records, Jeffery Dean Colley is currently being held in jail on a $30,000 Surety Bond.
